On Public Health: Nourishing Trust

March 16 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Established in 1968, UWM’s Center for 21st Century Studies (C21) has focused on the significance of interdisciplinary work in building a community of scholars to address the pressing issues of our time. Under new leadership, C21 has taken this longstanding mission in a new direction, attending to the role of the arts and humanities in creating stakeholder-informed and community-engaged public programming.

During this in-person panel discussion, C21 Director Anne Basting and Deputy Director Nicole Welk-Joerger will speak about the unique methodologies they used to develop C21’s current programming: Nourishing Trust. Nourishing Trust attends to the historical and philosophical dimensions of food and land justice while showcasing current initiatives toward improving food access and equity.
