How can the arts and humanities enhance the work of public health?  Particularly around food and land justice issues?

Join us to learn about the UWM Center for 21st Century Studies exploration of food and land justice in their programming “Nourishing Trust.”

Center Director, MacArthur Fellow Anne Basting, and Deputy Director Nicole Welk-Joerger (PhD in the History of Medicine, Science and Technology from U Penn), talk about how their community-based participatory research model for engaging scholars and community experts in generating program design, which includes short form podcasts, virtual roundtable discussions, a story survey and art exhibit, and an “interactive book club.”

This session will be conversational and invite attendees to complete the story survey – in addition to exploring the historical and philosophical dimensions of food and land justice while showcasing current initiatives toward improving food access and equity.
