Professor of Marketing Amit Bhatnagar has been appointed as the Lubar College’s PhD Program Director. Dr. Bhatnagar will work with the PhD Program Committee to benchmark and assess the program’s curriculum and delivery for continuous improvement, develop and implement a plan to recruit high quality students, and ensure that our doctoral students have appropriate scholarly and instructional opportunities to prepare them for academic careers at AACSB business schools.

Colleen Boland has been promoted to Associate Professor of Accounting. Dr. Boland specializes in auditing and accounting information systems. Her research interests include auditing standard setting, internal controls, corporate governance, audit and auditor quality, and corporate voluntary disclosure.

Professor of Management Maria Goranova was appointed as Director of the M&I Center for Business Ethics beginning this fall. Dr. Goranova will lead the College’s efforts to expand ethics education for our students, enhance faculty teaching competencies in the area of business ethics, and promote business ethics within the Lubar College and beyond through our Business Ethics Week, which offers a student case competition and programming for students, faculty, and the broader community. She will also continue her direction of the annual corporate governance webinar.

Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management Scott Schanke has been appointed as the new Director of the Center for Technology Innovation. In this role, Dr. Schanke will work toward enhancing CTI’s relationships with area corporations to provide project opportunities for students and faculty in the area of ITM, and will manage the Center’s outreach efforts including topical workshops and the annual Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Symposium.

Professor of Information Technology Management Atish Sinha has been named the Rockwell Automation Endowed Professor in Connected Systems in the Lubar College of Business. In this role, Dr. Sinha will serve as champion and catalyst at the Lubar College for connected systems research and academic programs. As Rockwell Professor, Dr. Sinha will also serve as the Academic Director for UWM’s Connected Systems Institute, a multi-disciplinary, collaborative center involving academia, industry, and government to promote Industry 4.0 technologies in U.S. manufacturing.
