Faculty Kudos, July 2023

Dr. Daniel Neely has been appointed as Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, effective August 2023. Dan will provide leadership for the college’s broad scope of academic affairs and student affairs initiatives as the Lubar College continues to advance its impact on our students, our community, and the profession.  As part of the college’s leadership team, he will also contribute to the College’s strategic planning process as we continue to address new challenges in the changing landscape of public higher education. Dan has been a member of the Lubar accounting faculty for 15 years, and is an expert in the role of financial information in governmental and nonprofit organizations.

Chad Venne has been named Director of the Real Estate Program and Teaching Professor, effective August 2023. He will be responsible for enhancing the real estate certificate curriculum, planning future program offerings, growing enrollments, building relationships with employers, and mentoring and advising students, in addition to classroom teaching. Chad has close to 20 years of executive and managerial experience in the real estate industry focusing on property management for office, industrial, retail, and multifamily assets. He is currently Managing Partner and Principal with Ballast Real Estate Partners and is a Certified Property Manager with the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Three members of the Lubar College of Business instructional staff have received the promotions in rank for Fall 2023:

  • Dr. Daniel Neely is promoted to Full Professor of Accounting & Taxation.
  • Dr. Xiaoting Hao is promoted to Teaching Faculty II in Finance.
  • Dr. Joseph Retzer is promoted to Teaching Faculty II in Supply Chain & Operations Management.
