As a new instructor, the three technologies you will need to access are the following:  

  • UWM email (Office 365) 
  • Canvas course site (Canvas is the online learning platform—or “virtual classroom”) 
  • PAWS, the UWM enrollment system 

All are accessible from the Faculty/Staff tab on uwm.edu using your ePanther ID and password.

Best Practices/Items to Note 

  • Use UWM email for all student/faculty communication 
  • Important announcements are sent to this account — check it regularly 
  • Download Microsoft Office apps free (Outlook, Teams, etc.) by selecting “Install Office” at the upper right corner or use the apps via the web 
  • Once you create a password for your email, that password will be used to access all other campus technologies—including the computers in classrooms
