This unique opportunity for community members and students is designed to enrich lives through music and the performing arts.

The University Community Orchestra invites advanced beginners or skilled amateurs, ages 12 and older, to rehearse and perform together. It is open to anyone who can read music and enjoys playing classical symphonic and pops repertoire.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place Wednesdays from 7–9:30 p.m. throughout the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters with a final concert to celebrate the season. Instruments are required at the first rehearsal.

University Community Orchestra Spring Concert

Join us tonight for an enjoyable evening of orchestra music. Our orchestra is a combination of student and community member musicians. Music selections range from standard orchestra repertoire and popular music selections.

Auditions & Membership

Open to UWM students and community members of all skill levels ages 12+. No audition is needed but musicians should be able to read music and enjoy playing classical symphonic and pops repertoire. Please register prior to the start of the session as no walk-ins are allowed. Enrollment is on a first come first served basis with an opportunity to be placed on a waiting list.

Students seeking college credit should register via PAWS by enrolling in one of the following: MUS 81 (non music majors), MUS 181 (music majors), MUS 781 (grad students). First-year and transfer students should register with their advisor during New Student Orientation. Music majors cannot take this in place of their assigned ensemble.

Non-credit students and community members should register through the School of Continuing Education.
