UWM Distinguished Professor Merry Wiesner-Hank (History and Women’s Gender Studies) chaired another successful international, multidisciplinary conference, Attending to Early Modern Women 2018: Action and Agency. The conference takes place every three years with a different focus, and this year it was held June 14-17 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education.
Casey O’Brien received the 2018 Dr. Jeff Merrick Leadership Award at this year’s UWM Lavender Graduation. This award is presented to a member of the faculty or staff at UWM who has shown dedication and support for LGBTQ+ people through taking the initiative to stand up and speak out against issues of homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, and cissexism.
