Admission Guidelines
If you were once registered in an undergraduate degree program at UW–Milwaukee, but have not attended for one full academic year or more, the readmission process is relatively straightforward and easy. If you’ve been away for less than one year, you can enroll again, but if you’ve been away for more than a year, you must re-apply.
For your readmission to UW–Milwaukee, we do a comprehensive review of your UWM coursework and coursework taken at other institutions. We recommend at least an overall ‘C’ (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) grade point average for transferable college work, though that does not guarantee admission.
Admission to the university, however, does not necessarily guarantee admission to your desired major or program. To gain admission to your major, you will need to meet specific GPA and credit requirements.
NOTE: Students who attended any UW System two-year campus prior to Fall 2018 must apply as a transfer student.
If you left UWM in poor academic standing, there may be a few extra steps we need you to complete before we can review your file for readmission. An advisor will walk you through those. If you left with any enrollment holds, we can assist you with the process for getting them cleared.
