Dual & Concurrent Enrollment

Give your students a head start. UWM’s dual and concurrent enrollment options allow them to begin earning college credit early. Connect with our Office of Dual Enrollment to learn more.

Submitting High School Transcripts

If students are still attending high school, they can upload or send an unofficial transcript through their Admissions Portal for initial review.

Once they graduate, a final official transcript is required. This transcript must come directly from the school and include a graduation date along with all completed coursework and grades.

Official transcripts can be submitted in the following ways:

  • Through an online sending service
  • Emailed by a school administrator to undergraduateadmissions@uwm.edu
  • Mailed to: UWM Admissions PO Box 749 Milwaukee WI 53201-0749
  • Dropped off in a sealed envelope at our Welcome Center.

A final transcript that includes a graduation date and all student grades is required to register for second semester classes.

Course Placement

Course placement is an important step in preparing for orientation and course registration.

Students entering in the fall are encouraged to register for orientation beginning in March of their senior year. To stay on track, placement requirements should be completed at least two weeks before their scheduled orientation session.

Updated information on course placement options are available each April.

Pathway Advising & Metamajors

Students admitted as Undecided are connected with Pathway Advising, a program designed to help them explore career options and academic interests during the first semester.

Advisors use six Metamajors to guide students as they navigate potential pathways. After admission, students select a Metamajor in their Admissions Portal to get started.

Direct Admit

Students can also gain admission to UW-Milwaukee through Direct Admit Wisconsin, an early-admission option that provides a streamlined path to enrollment.

Transferring Credits

For those interested in knowing how their credits transfer to UWM, they can use tools like TED or Transferology.

For students interested in majors in the College of Letters and Science or Lubar College of Business, they can submit the Unofficial Transcript Evaluation Form to learn how their courses transfer into their chosen major.

We encourage students to contact their admissions counselor for guidance on transfer credits and next steps.
