Pursuant to UW System Administration mandate, in accordance with UW System Regent Policy Documents 25-3 and 25-5, and consistent with every other UWS campus, UW-Milwaukee will be deploying Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) to all university-managed endpoints.
AMP significantly improves the defense of our computers. It offers faster and more accurate identification of malware, allowing campus to identify and to respond more rapidly to emerging threats.
Campus Technology Support (CTS) began deploying Cisco AMP earlier this month. The first phase of deployments will go to administrative divisions including Student Affairs and Financial and Administrative Affairs. Academic areas will receive AMP in early February.
The installation will not require any action by computer users. Once the malware protection has been enabled, users of supported computers will see an icon for Cisco’s “AMP for Endpoints Connector” in their list of applications.
