Are you curious to try out the pottery wheel? Join us for five weeks to familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of wheel throwing and clay! Between classes, participants will have access to the studio space to practice and work through their 25-pound bag of clay. We’ll cover the basics: centering, pulling walls, trimming, and glazing! 
Create your own unique patches to attach to clothing or bags with this foundational relief printmaking course! After creating and transferring the design participants will move into carving, exploring various techniques for achieving different textures! Finally, a printing demonstration will teach participants about modifying ink for successful final prints on fabric or paper! |

Are you interested in film photography? All skill levels are welcome for this hands-on black and white film photography workshop! We will cover the entire process from how to use a camera all the way to film development and printing! Participants will be provided with the materials needed, including cameras, film, paper, etc. and get full access to the studio space and step-by-step instruction! |

In this class, participants will discover basic frame tapestry-weaving techniques and develop their knowledge and vocabulary in fiber arts! Strategies developed throughout the course will enable participants to design and produce their own unique tapestry! |

Are you stuck in the middle of a knitting or crochet project and need some help with technique or pattern reading? Bring your questions to the help desk and consult our knitting and crochet teacher, Jeannie Baker (an actual old lady who has knitted and crocheted for many years and made more pattern mistakes than a cat has whiskers), for one-on-one support! 
Learn basic techniques of surface decoration on ceramic forms! This course will cover underglaze techniques such as stenciling, shaving cream swirl, and Mishima inlay, as well as overglazing processes such as dripping, brushing, and marbling. |

The fall student exhibition, Crossing Over, features work produced by undergraduate students in UWM’s Peck School of the Arts, Department of Art and Design who have received a scholarship and/or fellowship award in the 2026/2027 school year.
