Sociologists see the world in new ways! Sociologists look systematically at the world, going beyond what may seem like “common sense” or “common knowledge” to uncover the patterns that shape our interdependent human lives.

If you loved social studies in high school, you should explore sociology as a college major. You will learn about group dynamics and the causes and consequences of human behavior – and most importantly how these impact all aspects of our society, from our criminal justice system to corporate hiring processes to public policy related to housing and more.

Perhaps you already have a bachelor’s degree in sociology or a related discipline such as history, economics, or political science and want to take your research and analytical skills to the next level. Explore our faculty profiles to see if our faculty expertise is a good match for your research interests for a master’s or doctoral program.
