Chancellor Mone’s Message To Faculty And Staff

Dear UWM Colleague,

The 2017 State and University Employees Combined Giving Campaign (SECC) is now underway.

Last year, through the generosity of our active and retired faculty and staff, special campus events and general donations, we were able to raise over $100,000. This year, we look to exceed that amount while embracing the community through campus giving and building our capacity for partnerships with the external community.

This year’s campaign – Be The Change You Wish To See In Our Community – continues through Nov. 30 and invites all of us to join our large campus team in backing the efforts of our greater Milwaukee community. This partnership supports Milwaukee-area community non-profits, many of whom are engaged in important research and volunteer efforts with our University.

You are already registered to participate in the SECC campaign and all staff and faculty (both active and retired) are eligible to make their gift online today. Paper forms are also available through your department/division coordinator or can be printed here. As in the past, you can target your donation to any Milwaukee Partners In Giving agency. The campaign will end with a recognition as part of the campus holiday party Dec. 1.

This year, every campaign donor will receive two free tickets to a Milwaukee Panthers basketball game. Plus additional prizes will be available throughout the next six week to encourage giving and recognize those that are contributing. I invite you to keep track of all SECC events, incentive prize drawings, and other information by visiting our campaign web page. Please feel free to contact SECC Campus Coordinators Kevin O’Connor (kjoc@uwm.edu) or Keri Duce (klduce@uwm.edu) with any questions.  The Executive Sponsor for the campaign is Dr. Joan Prince, Vice Chancellor for Global Inclusion and Engagement.

Your support of our mission and goals continues to be critical to our success. That
support helps advance our priority goals of research and access while also fully engaging us in our external campaign of embracing the community through campus giving.

Thank you for considering my request to support the 2017 SECC campaign. By taking part in this process, you will again be of assistance to those who most need our help.  Let’s continue to be the institution that can proudly say it is “Be The Change You Wish To See In Our Community.”

Best regards,
