The essence of our campaign is the involvement of UWM faculty and staff in their roles as leaders in Milwaukee’s nonprofit arena.

Faculty and staff get involved by being a part of the leadership team, coordinating donations for their department or by organizing a special event.

A number of schools, colleges and departments across campus have used creative and fun ideas to engage people and increase donors and donations.

Campaign coordinators often organize events in different schools, colleges, departments or divisions. If you have a great idea for your area, let your coordinator know.

Check out some fun ideas from past years that have helped raise money for the SECC campaign!

• The College Of Nursing has sponsored a Cake/Pie Walk for each of the year five years – see a sample flyer
• The College of Nursing has also sponsored a Fruit and Veggie Walk – see the sample flyer
• Departments have also used potluck lunches or afternoon dessert gatherings as a way to raise money. A suggested donation of $5 is common.
• The United Way has a full guide of ideas. Some may not be applicable to your department or situation, but many others could be perfect or could be adapted to fit.
