Building Chairs serve as liaisons between departments and Facility Services in matters pertaining to building equipment and maintenance. Floor Captains are volunteers who provide aid to the Building Chair and other building occupants during emergencies.

They are often faculty, but may also include staff scientists or postdoctoral scholars in certain cases. Principal Investigators have primary responsibility for the safety and compliance of all research under their oversight. 

Researchers are any faculty, staff, or students who conduct research at UWM. Research can take many shapes and forms across the arts, sciences, and humanities.
