Applications are currently being accepted for the Fall 2026 semester. Applications for fall will be accepted thru April 12th.

Nonprof-IT provides students the opportunity to work with a team of peers on a technology project for a local nonprofit. Nonprof-IT is open to freshman through seniors of any major at UWM.  Credit is taken through the School of Information Studies INFOST 408 course (3 credits).  INFOST 408 is cross-listed with other majors including DAC, JAMS, CompSci and DVC. Teams consist of 3-4 students each. Projects run each fall and spring semester.

This is a one of a kind opportunity to gain real-world experience, earn course credit, and work/network with mentors from the Milwaukee business community.

I can honestly and proudly say that what I learned from the nonprof-IT program will give me an edge when I apply my skills in the workforce. I cannot recommend this internship enough!

The biggest impact on me personally is the confidence in my skills. You get a project to add to your portfolio at the end of the semester.
