Follow the instructions below to apply to the UWM School of Information Studies as an undergraduate student pursuing the School Library Media Certification program. This application is for students who are seeking certification without an MLIS degree.


Required Application Instructions

Create an account at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/.

Begin the application.
Choose Yes when asked if you are applying as a degree-seeking student.

After answering the next personal questions, choose Undergraduate Degree when asked. This allows you to choose the official certificate.

You should receive a screen that identifies you as a transfer/2nd degree applicant. This is correct. Continue the application.

Choose UW-Milwaukee from the campus drop-down menu.
Once selected, Search ‘school librarianship’ and select the program.

Select your term and complete the rest of the application. Continue to monitor emails for updates from UWM and School Library program.

Upon admission to UWM, complete the School Library Confirmation Form.
