- The base salary listed in my letter does not match my current rate of pay. Is my pay incorrect?
At the start of the Academic Year, it’s not uncommon for there to be multiple pay adjustments to an employee’s base pay (e.g., promotions, change in jobs, etc.). Because of the timing in which letters were issued, it’s possible not all pay adjustments have been reflected. You are encouraged to review your pay statement on September 5, 2024, to verify your final salary is correct. You may also reach out to your HR Business Partner to confirm your Academic Year salary and respective adjustments.
- I have a temporary base adjustment and my pay plan amount seems incorrect. How come?
Pay Plan adjustments are calculated only on your base salary amount. However, the salary cited in your letter may include any current temporary base adjustment amounts. Accordingly, the pay plan percentage may appear to be less than 2%. You are encouraged to review your pay statement on September 5, 2024, to verify your final salary is correct. You may also reach out to your HR Business Partner to confirm your Academic Year salary and respective adjustments.
- I began employment at UWM after July 2, 2024. Why didn’t I receive notice of a pay plan increase?
Eligibility criteria per the UWM Pay Plan and Implementation Guidelines required employment at UWM as of July 2, 2024. If you were employed after July 2, 2024, you are not eligible for the July 2024 pay plan adjustment. Please refer to the UWM Pay Plan Policy and Pay Plan Implementation Guidelines for more information.
- If I did not receive a pay plan notice, does that mean I am ineligible to receive pay plan?
Please review the eligibility criteria listed in the UWM Pay Plan Policy to determine your eligibility. If you are an employee who was deemed ineligible due to performance, mandatory training, or mandatory reporting, the Department of Human Resources will issue a notice of ineligibility.
- I am in a grant-funded position. Will I still be eligible for the pay plan?
The pay plan applies to all employees eligible for pay plan, regardless of funding source.
- Can I appeal my pay plan eligibility?
No. Units have the ability to address compensation utilizing other compensation adjustment methods. Please consult with your respective supervisor.
- I have a question that has not been addressed in the Pay Plan Policy, Implementation Guidelines, the Universities of Wisconsin FAQ or this FAQ, who should I contact?
Please contact your assigned HR Business Partner.
