The history master’s program is excellent preparation for a variety of careers or career advancement within academia, business, museums, nonprofits, galleries, libraries, preservation organizations, historical societies, and more. Within our program students can choose a thesis track, a non-thesis track (comprehensive exam instead), or a specialization in Urban Historical Studies. The latter option is ideal as preparation for a doctoral program in urban studies.
Browse this web site and the UWM Graduate School’s web site for more information. We especially encourage you to explore the details of each of these programs’ requirements in the Academics section of our web site or within our handbook.
