UWM and regional Latin Americanists will discuss challenges and opportunities to promote research, teaching and public engagement on the Americas. Presenters will share their experiences in roundtable presentations intended to engage the audience in a broad discussion about common issues and approaches to strengthen Latin American studies in Wisconsin and the region. The workshop will provide ample opportunity for networking and conversation.
The workshop will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 in conjunction with the CLACS 50th Anniversary Celebration of December 3rd.
Roundtable 2: New Approaches to Latin American Studies will include a presentation by Kristin Pitt, Associate Professor of Comparative Literature.
