UWM Academic Program Options for Wisconsin School District Partners

UWM offers a range of academic program options designed to support Wisconsin school district partners in strengthening and advancing their workforce. These programs include teacher licensure, speech-language pathology, and administrative and pupil services—providing flexible, high-quality pathways for current and aspiring education professionals.

Pathways To Degrees & Licensures

First Bachelor’s Degree

For individuals who want to earn their first bachelor’s degree plus teacher certification.

To be considered for admission to UWM, you must meet all UWM admissions requirements and complete the Universities of Wisconsin Application. If you have some college credit, you would apply to UWM as an undergraduate transfer student. Transfer students are students who have earned or are currently earning college credit after high school. Licensure Only or 2nd Degree

For individuals with a bachelor’s degree who would like to earn a teacher licensure or a second degree.

Our post-baccalaureate teacher education programs lead to teaching certification/licensure. These pathways are for those who already have a bachelor’s degree and aspire to become a classroom teacher by earning a licensure/certification only or 2nd degree. To get started on this pathway, complete the request for transcript evaluation form. A transcript evaluation will help determine the exact coursework needed to obtain a post-baccalaureate teaching certification.

Cost & Financial Aid

Special Tuition Pricing – $325/per credit (UG)

UWM’s School of Education offers special program pricing for current Wisconsin school district employees for our undergraduate teacher education programs and select graduate programs, making it more affordable to earn your degree and advance your career in education.

Undergraduate teacher education programs qualify for reduced tuition of $325 per credit.
Many of our graduate-level administrator & pupil services program are under $600 per credit.

Scholarship Opportunities

UWM and school-based scholarships are available, including additional funding for specific licensure programs. For the 2025-26 academic year, over $520,000 was awarded to 324 students within the School of Education. Don’t miss your opportunity to apply for funding.
