Emily Schirmacher

Emily Schirmacher joined the Dean of Students Office at UWM in June 2025 as the Manager for the Off-Campus Resource Center. Her passion for sustainability led her to the solar energy industry, where she worked as the Strategic Execution Officer at Halo Solar for multiple years. With a strong background in environmental education, outreach, and advocacy, Emily is deeply committed to supporting and engaging students through meaningful educational experiences and community involvement, and she is excited to bring that passion to the UWM community. 

Emily earned her bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Illinois Wesleyan University, then went on to serve in AmeriCorps as an Environmental Educator.

When she's not at work, you can find Emily climbing at a local bouldering gym, spending time outdoors, enjoying live music at a concert, or relaxing with friends, family, and her cat, Milo.
