The UWM Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership (WWHEL) chapter aims to positively impact the growth of current and aspiring leaders by providing professional development and networking opportunities.

The UWM chapter is organized by a steering committee made up of volunteers who meet regularly to plan events, communications, and activities that support our mission. All UWM employees in every job category who are interested in engaging with or supporting women in our workplace are invited to participate.

WWHEL provides state-wide opportunities for networking, information sharing and support for women in leadership and encourages women faculty and staff to pursue leadership positions. WWHEL sponsors an annual conference and maintains a website (wwhel.org) to facilitate communication about events and resources of interest. WWHEL is governed by a Board of Directors made up of women leaders from all sectors of higher education and have been active in Wisconsin for over 25 years.
