The Children’s Learning Center has implemented an online application process through ProCare beginning with fall 2026 applications.
New families who have not enrolled at the UWM Children’s Center previously should select the link for New Family Applications. You will need to register for an account and complete the “New Family Application.”
Continuing families must log into their MyProcare account and select the appropriate age and program level available to them under registration.
You must submit the application and pay the application processing fee for your application to be complete. Returning families who already have a payment account setup in ProCare will be invoiced the $15 per continuing child and $30.00 (student parent) or $50.00 (non-student parent) per new child. New families will need to pay using checking or savings through ProCare.
General Information
Applications are available on our website 2-3 weeks prior to the priority application deadline listed on our Calendar. You are able to apply for a current semester, or the next upcoming semester during the registration period, but we do not accept applications for future semesters. There is a $30 application processing fee (per child) for UWM students; the fee is $50 (per child) for non-students.
For the best opportunity to enroll your child/ren, you must apply by the Priority Application Deadline listed on our Center calendar for the applicable semester. We accept applications after that deadline on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want specific information about what times/days are available, you will need to submit an application, as we cannot offer any hours without an application to process. You may contact the Center’s Enrollment Manager (childrenscenter-enrollment@uwm.edu) for more information to see if there is a waiting list for a particular age group.
A waiting list is common and the list changes each semester. Our waiting list varies greatly depending on the age of the child, the hours/days requested, and the parent’s university status.

All families are eligible to apply
The Children’s Learning Center is a university-based center and the center prioritizes UWM affiliated families.
- UWM Student: Student status is determined by enrollment in a degree-granting or certification program and at least 3 graded credits for Fall semester for undergraduates and 2 graded credits for graduate programs, and payment of the segregated fees.
- UWM Faculty/Staff: UWM Faculty/Staff status is determined by at least one parent is employed by UWM.
- UWM Alumni: Alumni status is determined by at least one parent being a graduate of UWM.
- Community Member: For families with none of the above affiliations to UWM.

Pay the application processing fee
For continuing families (those enrolled in the current semester), the $15 application processing fee is added to your monthly bill. You do not need to process payment at the time of your application; this will be added to your upcoming bill.
New families will receive an email from our enrollment office with instructions on how to pay your application fee in your account on the ProCare platform.
- UWM Student, there is a $30.00 application processing fee (per child).
- Non-students (faculty, staff, alumni, community members), the processing fee is $50.00 (per child).
