Rosemarie Striedl was one of just nine awardees across all of UWM’s language programs to be granted a ‘Mielke Scholarship’ award in May. The estate gift from Janice and Bruce Mielke following their passing to fund scholarships for world language students is expected to be an annual scholarship fund with many more awardees to come in future years. We are very proud to have an Irish Language student as a recipient of this award in its inaugural year. The Mielke Scholarship award is based on the merit and achievement of each student as nominated by their instructor or department. Congratulations, Rosemarie!
