November 4th Cartooning and Visual Storytelling with Liz Anna Kozik, 9-11 AM (Curtin 939)

Liz Anna Kozik will offer a workshop on visual storytelling for “non-artists” or people who vehemently claim “but I can’t draw!”  Liz is an interdisciplinary scholar who works at the intersection of science communication, environmental humanities, and art. Her research focuses on the myriad culturo-scientific facets of ecological restoration in the American Midwest. Through comics and an active social media presence, she shares stories of the practices, people, and history of prairie restoration. Liz holds a PhD in Environment & Resource from UW Madison’s Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, and a BFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design.
