Real Men Sing

Formerly the Real Men Sing Festival, the Sing Out! Tenor-Bass Festival is open to all current and emerging tenors and basses in grades 7–12. No advance preparation necessary. Students will be organized into a middle school and high school choir, and the morning concludes with performances from both ensembles. Interest and reading sessions are available for directors.

Thank you for your interest in our 2022 UWM Sing Out! Tenor-Bass Festival! Our festival is currently full, but we may still have room to accommodate one or two additional schools. If you’re interested please email Zack Durlam at for additional information.

Who: Choral directors

Enrollment: Limited to the first 800 ninth through twelfth graders and first 300 seventh and eighth graders registered.

$75 per school (fewer than 40 students)
$150 per school (40+ students)

Deadline: All payments must be received by August 19, 2022.


7:15 a.m.
Check-in & seating: Students should dress professionally and according to their school dress code. No uniform performance attire is required.

8–11:30 a.m.
Warm-ups, rehearsal, director workshops and reading sessions, and performance by the UWM Kameraden Tenor-Bass Choir.

Performances by seventh/eighth-grade students, ninth- through twelfth-grade students and combined choirs.


Schools must provide music for each participating singer. Music can be ordered from Brass Bell Music Store in Glendale, which has the music in stock, and available at a discount.
