Dr. Alisa Jordheim, soprano, has been described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “vocally resplendent… powerful, and possessing impeccable coloratura.” A Fulbright Scholar and recipient of awards from The Sullivan Foundation and the Metropolitan Opera National Council, she brings a rich blend of lyrical beauty and dramatic insight to every performance. Dr. Jordheim currently serves on the voice faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

Pianist Kuang-Hao Huang is recognized for his “perceptive pianism” and “playing that is sensitive and wonderfully warm.” A highly sought-after collaborator, his career spans North America, Europe, and Asia, and he has premiered numerous works with leading ensembles.

Composer Rami Levin holds a B.A. from Yale, an M.A. in Composition from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Her music has been commissioned and recorded internationally, praised for its “fluent, affectionate and full textures” that evoke the traditions of Poulenc and Stravinsky while forging a distinct voice.

This special program offers the opportunity to hear a brand-new work written for this duo, alongside a selection of art songs and piano settings that illuminate the expressive power of voice and piano in dialogue. Whether you’re an ardent music-lover or simply curious about new repertoire, this recital promises both lyrical brilliance and compelling contemporary voice.
