Biography
As a filmmaker and educator with over two decades of experience teaching film production and mentoring teens and university students, I serve as teaching faculty in the Department of Film, Video, Animation & New Genres at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. I teach courses in 16mm film production, digital filmmaking, and a range of electives. I developed and direct a summer film camp for high school students focused on visual storytelling, cinematography, and postproduction using industry-standard tools. My teaching combines hands-on instruction, inclusive curriculum design, and professional practice across genres to empower emerging filmmakers and amplify underrepresented voices.
Alongside my work in film and education, I am a longtime indie rock singer and songwriter, a practice that deeply informs my approach to narrative and rhythm. Writing and performing original music has sharpened my sensitivity to voice, structure, and mood. Currently in production, I am directing Uncoiled, a diaristic feature documentary investigating how criminal evidence is interpreted through expert opinions, intuition, and memory—and how society values, endorses, or discredits truths. My short films have screened at various festivals including the Wisconsin Film Festival, Chicago Feminist Film Festival, Milwaukee Film and Ann Arbor Film Festival.
