Biography
Thomas Romero is an interdisciplinary artist residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Having obtained both his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Print and Narrative Forms (2011) and his Master of Fine Arts in Fibers and Materials Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2024), he has been able to harness a wide range of mediums that allow for a larger discussion within materials and the information those materials can hold. Thomas Romero has served as Vice President and President of his MFA cohort and is a founding member of the Print Club (2008) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His dedication to his craft has been fully supported by residencies which include the Penland School of Craft, both as a Studio Assistant during the Summer Session 6 2024, assisting artist Kyoung Ae Cho and on a Printmaking Fellowship during their Winter Residency 2025. In addition to Penland, Thomas Romero, serves as a staff member, print committee member and resident selection panelist for the ACRE (Artist Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions) Residency based out of Chicago, Il and held in Steuben, Wi as well as attended the residency during the summer of 2024. He is currently a Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Printmaking and Book Arts department and holds the Studio Lab Technician position there.
