Biography

Max Estes is an American illustrator, children’s author, filmmaker, and art educator based in Fredrikstad, Norway. He has written and illustrated over 30 children’s books and graphic novels and has had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of freelance clients and collaborators over the years, from Obama for America to Greenpeace. He began work on his first film, The Green Tree, in 2025—an animated adaptation of his children’s book of the same title.
