Biography

Geornica Daniels is a sculptor and installation artist whose work investigates memory, identity, and the tension between preservation and loss. Using fragile and transformative materials such as paper, beeswax, rope, floral foam, and found objects, she creates vessels and installations that act as alternate archives—forms that explore the impermanence of recollection and the shifting nature of history.

Daniels is currently an MFA candidate in Sculpture at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she also teaches undergraduate sculpture. She is a recipient of the AOP Fellowship and was nominated for the International Sculpture Center’s Outstanding Student Achievement Award in Contemporary Sculpture. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Wright Museum of Art, Rahr West Art Museum, Union Street Gallery, and Art Works RVA. She has also participated in residencies at ACRE (Steuben, WI) and the Cedarburg Cultural Center. Upcoming projects include a solo exhibition at Walker’s Point Center for the Arts in 2026.

In addition to her studio practice, Daniels has led multiple community workshops and is committed to teaching as an extension of her creative research, fostering spaces of reflection, material exploration, and shared meaning.
