Some instructors and faculty may be cautious about using national norms for their courses because of any number of reasons:
- The course is not designed the same (i.e. use a different ordering of content between first and second terms)
- Coursetime has been reduced with less time to teach content
- Content has been removed from the course
- Students are worried about taking a test with questions that were not in their course
We have the answer!
We have developed a new tool that allows you to remove items from the nationally normed test and receive new, reduced norms.
To access this tool:
- You can click on a link below based on exam. The link will redirect you to an application.
- An instructional PowerPoint can be downloaded here.
- The application also allows you to upload your own data to determine each student’s percentile against the national sample. A template for how to format your own data can be downloaded here.
For exams not listed here, please feel free to reach out to David at schreurd@uwm.edu to see about making the application for that exam accessible.
If the removal of items from an existing ACS Exam does not provide you the level of freedom you want to construct an exam, we are now also offering custom exams! Custom exams allow you to pull items from multiple exams to provide you even greater flexibility in exam length and content coverage.
