Image Articulation
This project is aimed at developing an image articulation framework that can be applied to images used in ACS Exams for creating more accessible examinations. Image frameworks exist for common, everyday images; these frameworks allow for blind and visual-impaired individuals to better understand content and media including pictures, graphs, and other simple representations. However, there is no suitable framework for discipline-specific images such as those used in chemistry. Through a series of eye-tracking studies with sighted individuals, we are developing a chemistry-specific image articulation framework that can be applied to any chemistry text or examination.
