Welcome! Urban Studies Programs combine passion for social justice with hard-edged social science research in classes taught by faculty with urban expertise.

We offer students two interdisciplinary social science graduate programs led by more than 25 faculty from four schools/colleges across 10 departments from architecture, geography, and history to public administration, sociology and urban planning among others. Our over 800 alumni have gone on to distinguished careers in academia, research institutions, government, and nonprofit agencies.

The course of study stresses the understanding of social processes and the analysis of social and economic policies affecting cities. Learn more about the Master’s Program.
