Support for Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF)
Three times a year, faculty and students co-write proposals for funding that are then reviewed by a committee. The awards are limited to $1,500 per semester during the academic year and $3,000 in the summer. The awards are paid out as student hourly salaries.

Success Through Aging Research (STAR)
The National Institute on Aging funds the UWM STAR program to support educational activities and mentored research experiences for undergraduate students interested in aging and/or health disparities.

Senior Excellence in Research Awards (SERA)
The Senior Excellence in Research Award (SERA) goes to a small group of seniors who have been significantly active in undergraduate research during their time at UWM and who propose a research plan for their senior year.

MCW Cancer Center and UWM Undergraduate Research Program
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center and UWM have partnered to develop an undergraduate research program to train the next generation of high-performing, diverse cancer researchers. The program is rooted in high-quality science training to benefit students, mentors, and the institutions.

UR@UWM Summer Research Program for Incoming Students
The OUR manages a highly successful residential program for incoming freshmen who work as research assistants in the summer before starting at UWM. The program works with about twenty students a year and is a highly competitive program.
