Re-entry students were once degree-seeking UWM students but have not attended UWM for a full academic year and are ready to return to college to complete their degree. Students returning to UWM can apply here.
NOTE: Students who attended UWM at Washington County or UWM at Waukesha in Fall 2018 or later should:
- Apply as a re-entry student if they are applying to UWM at Washington County or Waukesha.
- Use the internal transfer form if you are an active student at UWM at Washington County or Waukesha and applying to the Milwaukee campus.
Pounce Back Re-Entry Scholarship
$500 scholarship for full-time returning students if you apply by Aug. 1 and enroll for the fall semester.
$250 scholarship for part-time returning students if you apply by Aug. 1 and enroll for the fall semester.
Applying to UWM as a Re-Entry Student
After applying, students who have attended another institution since leaving UWM should request that their college send us their official college transcripts. If students have not attended another institution since leaving UWM, no other documents are required.
Official transcripts can be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions through an approved electronic service such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse to email@example.com, or via U.S. mail to:

If you left UWM because you did not meet academic performance standards and would like to return before your suspension period is over, you need to obtain permission from your former academic advising unit.
If you have any outstanding bills or any other holds on your PAWS account, contact your Admission Advisor for assistance.
Admission to the university does not necessarily guarantee admission to your desired major or program. Some programs require specific class credits and GPAs.
