Re-entry students were once UWM students but have not attended UWM for a full academic year and are ready to return to college to complete their degree. Students who have attended another institution since leaving UWM should review requirements for transfer students.
NOTE: Students who attended any UW System two-year campus before Fall 2018 must apply to UWM as a transfer student.
Application requirements for re-entry students are below. Ready to apply? Review your steps for applying to UWM.
Preparing to Apply to UWM as a Re-Entry Student
As you prepare to return to college, the application process will ask you for a variety of information including personal information and academic history. To make completing the application as easy as possible, we recommend having this information available when you start:
- Personal and parent information (if applicable), including address and contact information.
Admission to the university, however, does not necessarily guarantee admission to your desired major or program. To gain admission to your major, you’ll need to meet specific credit and GPA requirements.
If you left UWM in poor academic standing, there may be a few extra steps we need you to complete before we can review your file for readmission. An advisor will walk you through those. If you left UWM with any enrollment holds, we can assist you with the process for getting them cleared.
Scholarships worth up to $500 are available for returning students if you apply by Aug. 1 and enroll for the fall semester.
