UW-Milwaukee is excited to announce our participation in the 2025 Focus on Energy Higher Education Kit Challenge, a friendly statewide competition between Wisconsin universities to see who can save the most energy — and we need your help to win the $5,000 grand prize!
- Competition Dates: July 1–October 31, 2025. UWM students, faculty, and staff can order their FREE kit until October 31st.
- Winner Announced: Focus on Energy will announce the winning university in early November. Stay tuned!

Register for your Free Energy Savings Kit!
- Visit https://focusonenergymarketplace.com/free
- Select your kit. Choose from Focus on Comfort, Focus on Showers, or Focus on Baths. Choose “Add to Cart” (note: limit 1 kit per household). The website will apply an instant rebate. Select “Checkout Now” and confirm that the price is $0.
- IMPORTANT: In your cart (sidebar), click on the “Apply Promo” and enter HE-UWM. Without this information, your entry doesn’t help UWM win the challenge!
- Click “Proceed to Checkout.”
- Fill in your installation address – where you intend to install the energy equipment. Click “Enter.”
- Note: If you live in University Housing, the Focus on Energy platform will not let you order a kit using a UWM Housing address. However, you can enter a home address if your family lives in Wisconsin.
- Fill in your shipping address – where you want the kit to be shipped.
- IMPORTANT: Under the “Electric Utility Account Number” box, enter “SCHOOL CHALLENGE” – you do not need to enter your utility account information.
- Finish by clicking “Place Order.”
