What is Small Group Tutoring?

Review. Practice. Succeed.

Small Group Tutoring is a FREE, course-specific, peer-facilitated group study session that was developed to improve retention and academic success. Students can sign up for a tutoring sessions that meets on a weekly basis up to 5 students that is facilitated by a tutor that demonstrated proficiency in the course material. Tutoring sessions are designed to be a fun and interactive way to learn the course material through group activities, discussions, and games! All you need to bring are any course materials that will help you be prepared to engage in the session.

How do I sign up for Tutoring? 

To sign up in-person: Come to our main office in Bolton 120 or the Library East Wing E154, and our Desk Staff will help you sign up for a Tutoring appointment. 

To sign up online: Visit our website and fill out the tutor request form.

Why should I go to tutoring or SI?

You should go to tutoring or SI to improve your course understanding, improve your study skills and time management skills, meet other classmates, need to hear a concept explained another way, or want to ask your questions. Some instructors also offer extra to participate in tutoring or Si, see your course syllabus for more information. 

Can I attend tutoring or SI even if I am not currently taking the class? 

Students must be enrolled for credit and attending the class for which they wish to receive tutoring or SI support.
