The two collaborative films by Beny Wagner & Sasha Litvintseva, A Demonstration (2020) and Constant (2022) explore the colonial tendencies of modern science and taxonomy. The former explores and reinterprets a way of seeing the natural world through an examination of the definitions of monstrosity deployed by Early Modern European naturalists, while the latter explores the social and political histories of measurement. Through this work, Beny & Sasha ask us to consider ways the human body is entangled in knowledge forms that are instrumentalized by institutions of power.
