Susan Cushman

Susan joined UWM in 2014 as the Campus Alcohol & Other Drug Coordinator and became Director of Health Promotion & Advocacy in 2022. She is dedicated to using public health approaches to create the conditions for optimal health for all UWM students. A collaborator at heart, Susan helps students recognize and use their strengths, ideas and motivation to promote their health and well-being.

Susan has a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
