Distinguished Lecture Series Presents: Tommy G. Thompson
November 5 | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us for an evening with Tommy G. Thompson, longest-serving governor in Wisconsin history (1987-2001), 19th United States Secretary of Health and Human Services for President George W. Bush, and 8th President of the University of Wisconsin System (2020-2022).

Tommy Thompson is respected leader known for working across party lines. He shaped policy on welfare reform, school choice, health care access, and national public health preparedness. From revitalizing Wisconsin’s economy and expanding opportunities for families, to strengthening America’s readiness in the wake of 9/11, to guiding the UW System through the challenges of a global pandemic, Thompson brings decades of experience and insight on leadership, resilience, and innovation. At this event, he will share his leadership journey and the lessons he’s learned, offering the audience valuable perspectives on navigating challenges and driving positive change.

After leaving public service, Thompson continues to expand his efforts to develop innovative solutions to the health care challenges facing American families, businesses, communities, states, and the nation.

This event will be a moderated discussion, moderated by Dean Stensberg, member of the board of the Thompson Center for Public Leadership, public servant, and Wisconsin government official for over thirty-five years, serving in all three branches of the government.

This event is free and open to the public. A ticket is required.
