Making Lucha Libre: Latinx Theater

Join us in meeting nationally-produced playwright and UWM Associate professor in Theater Alvaro Saar Rios. He will be talking about his work and professional journey, discussing his award-winning plays that include Luchadora!, On The Wings of a Mariposa, and Carmela Full of Wishes. His talk will include his time in the U.S. Army and how this experience shaped his career, inspiring a character in one of his plays.
