Experimental Tuesdays Presents: Tomonari Nishikawa (In Memoriam)

Please join us for a screening to honor the late Tomonari Nishikawa’s work—a celebration of his singular vision and lasting influence.  

Born in Nagoya, Japan, Nishikawa immigrated to the United States in 1999 to pursue filmmaking and earned his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. He passed away in April 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy as an artist, teacher, and friend to many in the experimental film community. His films, often shot on 8mm and 16mm, explore the act of observation through material processes and formal experimentation.
