Backpacking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Friday September 26, 7am departure to Sunday September 28, 7pm return to campus.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore offers a captivating adventure along the pristine shoreline of Lake Superior, where we’ll traverse a scenic trail that winds through forests, sandstone cliffs, and unveils breathtaking views of the lake. This remote and rugged wilderness promises an immersive backcountry experience amidst the beauty of Michigan’s striking fall colors! All transportation, gear, meals, and lodging are included in the price.All participants must attend a mandatory pre-trip meeting the week of the trip. Registration closes on 9/19.

There is an option to place a $75 deposit at checkout – the remainder of the balance must be paid in person at Outdoor Pursuits before the trip’s departure.

ITINERARY:
Friday: Drive 5hrs to starting trailhead, hike 5 miles (8km) to campsite, make dinner, camp overnight
Saturday: Hike 7 miles (11km) to the next campsite, camp overnight
Sunday: Hike 3 miles (5km) to the ending trailhead, drive to scenic overlook, drive back to UWM
