Donald Dantzler

Donald D. Dantzler Jr. is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in
Educational Leadership & Policy. Donald’s research focuses on Black males in P-20 and
intervention mechanisms that foster academic success. Having an Economics background and
strong quantitative research skills, he is passionate about solving real world problems using
statistical techniques. Donald has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has
facilitated many programs and workshops to increase the persistence and success of students.
Professionally, Donald has worked in the areas of non-profits, evaluation, data analysis, and
research for the past 12 years.

In addition to his academic and professional prowess, Donald serves on several Boards. He
serves as Board Chairman of the Madison Area Technical College District Board of Trustees,
Board Member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Madison, Inc.., and until recently, Sherman
Phoenix Foundation. Additionally, Donald serves on the Program Committee for the Goodman
Community Center and served on the Police and Fire Commission for the city of Fitchburg, WI.
prior to be elected to the City Council.

In 2023, Donald was selected as a member of the InBusiness Magazine 40Under40. More
recently, he completed the Executive Leadership Program through 100 Black Men of America.
Donald earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-
Whitewater in Education and Economics/Finance. He is a native of Joliet, IL., but has resided in
Wisconsin since receiving an athletic scholarship to play basketball at the University of
Wisconsin-Parkside in 2007.
