With the ‘Walk On’ initiative, people will be drawn downtown for more than a quick stop at their favorite store. Starting on Water Street, we will be placing kiosks at central points within each of the 4 different sections of the street we have identified. At each kiosk, there will be an interactive touchscreen to help users discover the history of that location. Each screen will also allow users to search for specific businesses on Water Street within the different categories we have, including Food, Shopping, Entertainment and Nightlife. By selecting one of these categories, every business on the street pertaining to that category will appear, and further information will be provided. Each kiosk will also have a brochure for users to take with them as they experience the city. With Walk On, people will be able to make more out of their downtown trips, and enjoy the journey that it takes them on.
