In accordance with its education, research, and public service mission, UWM and other UW institutions occasionally experience the need for services of an academic nature that cannot be met through a competitive State procurement process. These types of academic support services have a narrowly defined scope, a limited duration, and require unique skills. They may be provided by an individual, business, non-profit organization or whatever entity may be available to meet the unique set of qualifications required to accomplish the research, educational or public service mission.
These types of arrangements may be executed under the authority of the Board of Regents, pursuant to UW System Administrative Policy 540 using an Academic Support Services Agreement (ASSA).
