The current regulatory landscape informing the research enterprise includes significant concerns from the U.S. government about perceived undue foreign influence on the U.S. research enterprise. As a result, academic research institutions have a heightened interest in understanding the affiliations and research activities faculty members may have with foreign governments and entities.
