Research Interest Areas

Dr. Anderson (Lopez)’s research areas broadly include marginalized, at-risk populations. Her specific focus is on examining substance use in perinatal individuals, including its co-occurrence with other behavioral health conditions and treatment, prevention, and harm reduction methods. She also has been involved in research projects exploring intimate partner violence and barriers to help-seeking and care. Specific research designs include descriptive, cross-sectional, longitudinal, randomized controlled trials, and mixed methods approaches. She is particularly interested in transdisciplinary, team-based research. More information can be found on her website: https://sites.uwm.edu/andersoa/
